Privacy Policy

1. What We Collect

When you use the questionnaire tool, you provide financial information such as income, expenses, age, debts, insurance details, and investment goals. This data is used exclusively to generate your personalised investment plan.

We do not create an account for you. No username, password, or profile is stored anywhere. Your data exists only in a temporary session.

To view your free plan, you will also be asked for your email address — see Section 3 for details on how it's used.

2. Session TTL — 2 Hours

Your questionnaire responses and generated report are stored in an encrypted, server-side session for 2 hours only. After that window expires, all data is automatically deleted. We have no way to retrieve it — it is permanently gone.

If you unlock the paid report, your session is extended to 25 hours so your PDF download link remains valid for 24 hours.

Sessions are identified by an anonymous UUID stored in a browser cookie (wwi_session). This cookie contains no personal data — only the random ID used to look up your temporary session.

3. Secure Browser Transfer

Links opened from Instagram and other apps may use a browser that cannot share its saved data with Chrome, Safari, or an installed AskAmit app. AskAmit strongly recommends moving to an external browser before the questionnaire or payment flow. You may continue in the in-app browser after confirming a separate risk warning.

If you already created AskAmit data in one of these browsers, you can explicitly create a one-time browser transfer. The transfer can contain your plan, questionnaire draft, report, and Ask Coach history. It is encrypted before being stored temporarily in Upstash Redis, expires after 30 minutes, and is deleted when redeemed. The transfer link can be used once.

We never include your financial plan directly in the transfer URL, and we do not send transfer tokens or financial values to PostHog. Your original browser copy is not deleted by the transfer.

To recover from an in-app browser refresh, the one-time transfer link may remain only in that tab's temporary session storage until the same 30-minute expiry. AskAmit never automatically deletes unreadable saved plan data; removal requires your separate confirmation.

4. Email — Required to View Your Plan

Before you can view your free investment plan, you must provide a valid email address — there is no way to skip this step. A separate, always-optional checkbox lets you additionally join our monthly investing-tips newsletter; leaving it unchecked does not stop you from seeing your plan.

• Your email is stored in Resend (our email provider) as a contact.
• Your email is never linked to your financial data. Resend only knows your email address — not your income, debts, or investment goals.
• We send a small number of plan-related emails; every one includes an unsubscribe link.
• We will never sell or share your email with third parties.

If you don't unlock the paid plan, we automatically send a short, timed sequence of up to 3 emails — a recap of your free plan, then two reminders about the goals still locked in it. This sequence stops immediately if you unlock the paid plan or unsubscribe, and it runs regardless of whether you checked the newsletter box above.

If you unlock the paid plan, you will also receive transactional emails related to your purchase, plus a longer automated lifecycle sequence of periodic check-ins and progress emails over the following months. Every automated email includes an unsubscribe link.

5. Payments

Payments are processed by Razorpay. We never see or store your card number, UPI ID, or bank details. Razorpay handles all payment data under their own PCI-DSS compliant infrastructure.

We store only a payment status flag (completed /pending) inside your temporary session. This flag is deleted when the session expires.

6. Human Plan Review

An AskAmit Pro yearly purchase includes one Human Plan Review, delivered through a private Discord conversation with Amit. We store a review record containing a hashed (never plaintext) review code, its status (available, claimed, in review, answered, closed, or expired), a topic count, and a few operational timestamps.

If you claim your review in Discord, we store only your Discord user ID against that record — never your Discord display name, avatar, server profile, or message content. Your questions and Amit's answers stay in Discord; we never copy them into AskAmit's systems. The review record is retained for up to 400 days, and the code itself can only be claimed within 30 days of purchase.

The Discord invite is shown only after we verify your AskAmit Pro entitlement live — it is never included in a public page, a client-side configuration file, or analytics. Do not share bank details, identity documents, passwords, OTPs, or account credentials in a review ticket.

7. Analytics

We use PostHog for anonymous product analytics (page views, funnel steps, feature usage). PostHog data is aggregated and does not identify individuals. No financial data is sent to PostHog. Human Plan Review analytics use only coarse, non-identifying properties (such as a time-bucketed duration) — never the review code, Discord ID, or any question/answer content.

8. No Permanent Storage

We do not operate a database. There is no table of users, no history of past reports, and no way to look up what any individual user entered. Once your session expires, nothing remains on our servers.

9. Third-Party Services

• Vercel — hosting and edge functions
• Upstash Redis (Vercel KV) — temporary session storage
• Anthropic (Claude) — AI report generation; your data is sent to Claude to generate the plan and is subject to Anthropic's API data policy
• Razorpay — payment processing
• Resend — email delivery (opted-in users only)
• PostHog — anonymous analytics
• Discord — private Human Plan Review conversations (AskAmit Pro yearly only)
